Merchant Source Capture
Merchant Source Capture, also known as remote deposit, is a solution that is specifically designed to enable the client’s business customers to make bank deposits directly from their offices. This new product is currently in high demand. Fiserv ImageStream Merchant Source Capture has three main components:
1. Browser interface and web-server
2. Image Quality Assesment (IQA) and Courtesy Amount Recognition/Legal Amount Recognition (CAR/LAR)
3. Decision routing and file management
The business customer must install a small tabletop scanner to capture the check images. Once captured, images are uploaded to a server, analyzed for image quality and routed through Fiserv to direct the flow of substitute checks to the most efficient routing. Fiserv then prints IRDs as required, at the most economical print location for the bank. As image exchange endpoints become available, images, not IRDs will be used for presentment.
What is required for a Merchant Source Capture solution?
The system requires your commercial customers to purchase a small tabletop device to capture images of their deposited items. The software is browser-based so installation is quick and efficient. Your financial institution does not require any additional equipment or software to offer this service.
